Description
This book The Science and Applications of Industrial Waters is a follow-up to the earlier monograph The Theory and Practice of Clean Water Production for Domestic and Industrial Use: Purified and Packaged waters, first published in 2005 and revised in 2013 by LactoMedals Publishers. A lot of accolades have followed this first publication from students, individuals and practitioners in areas of water production for homes, food and pharmaceuticals. Certainly this was a ground breaking work on clean water production. It revised version is even richer in more facts, topics and illustrations.
Indeed, this new book The Science and Applications of Industrial Waters is also authored by Professor Udoma Mendie who has carried out extensive research works on water production, quality assurance and controls; and has participated in numerous national and international conferences. He is a Pharmacists, Pharmaceutical Microbiologist and Public Analyst; also, the former Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UNILAG.
The text is written with an intention of deepening the first monograph and a focus on detailing all the sciences involved in industrial water production and quality controls. Areas such as hazards of industrial waters, industrial and environmental microbiology, spoilage and preservation of water products, fermentation, sterilization, factory hygiene and sanitation are well covered.
Every aspect of industrial water production including setting-up and operating a water system, production and quality management, aqueous nature of water, disinfection, filtration, packaging and quality assurance system have been discussed.
Certainly, it is a pragmatic reference text for teaching and practical for professionals, students and individuals working on industrial waters; or those in pharmaceutical, water and food industries, or regulatory agencies. It will be of significant benefits to pharmaceutical and industrial microbiologists and chemists. Every professional who desires industrial water for production will find this book very useful.
