sedimentation may be hastened by the addition of a chemical coagulant.
Clarity is a standard requirement for purified water. Filtration constitutes another important stage in water treatment methods, resulting in the removal of more suspended matter and microorganisms, which hitherto were omitted during earlier clarification and disinfection processes.
